Make a Schedule

🎯 MISSION: Adopt a Schedule for Completing the Course and Send It to Me!

Yes, the course is self-paced and you can study whenever you want. However, the most progress is often made by students who adhere to a study planβ€”a specific schedule with regular study time and deadlines for completing parts of the course.

(NOTE: The concept of a "mission" aligns with the Bambara word ci (or cira in Jula), a noun that typically refers to an errand that someone has to run for someone or oneself.)

πŸ›  How to Create Your Schedule

There are two options for creating a schedule:

1️⃣ Option 1: Use the 12-Week Schedule

2️⃣ Option 2: Create Your Own Schedule

Firstly, determine which category you fit into:

  • No Deadline but Busy
  • You Have a Deadline

Jump to the section below that fits your situation.

πŸ“† You Have No Deadline, but You're Busy

  1. Analyze Your Daily Routine

    • Take a look at your typical daily routine. Identify blocks of 30-60 minutes that you could use for Beginner Bambara course assignments and regular vocab review. Write them down!
  2. Calculate Your Timeline

    • 1 hour per week = 30 weeks (~7 months)
    • 2 hours per week = 15 weeks (~3.5 months)
    • 3 hours per week = 10 weeks (~2.5 months)
  3. Plot Your Deadlines

    • Mark your "Course Start" and "Course Completion" dates on your calendar.
    • Divide the number of weeks by 4 to get your "Unit Timeline Number".
    • Use this to mark "Unit Completion" dates for Units 1, 2, and 3.
  4. Send Your Schedule

  5. Revise Your Schedule

    • Update your schedule if it becomes unrealistic.

πŸ—“ You Have a Deadline

  1. Mark Your Calendar

    • Set your "Course Start" and "Course Completion" dates.
  2. Calculate Weekly Study Hours

    • 3 months = 2.5 hours per week
    • 4 months = 2 hours per week
    • 5 months = 1.5 hours per week
  3. Assess Feasibility

    • Ensure you can actually meet these study hours. If not, re-evaluate your "Course Completion" deadline.
  4. Set Unit Deadlines

    • Space out and mark estimated completion dates for Units 1-4.
  5. Send Your Schedule

  6. Revise Your Schedule

    • Update your schedule if it becomes unrealistic.
