MISSION: Join the "An ka taa" community spaces!

Yes, you can do the course completely on your own without ever talking to me or any others students.

But you want to learn to speak in Bambara! The students that make the most progress are often those that do the following:

  • They make or have opportunities to use the language as part of their daily life
  • They build connections with other people that can provide support and comraderie

How to do it

To complete the mission, there's two things that you should do.

Join the Student Community

To make the language and the act of studying it a part of your daily life, join the AKT student community in the two dedicated spaces where you can practice, help one another and share the experience of learning Bambara. You will also find me in there offering feedback and tips :-)

  1. Discover and join the Discord server (for real-time chatting and problem solving).
  2. Discover and join the Forum's Study Space(for asynchronous discussion whenever is convenient).
  3. Make it habit to check both spaces before, during or after each of your study sessions. And, yes, say "I ni ce!"

Join the AKT Audience

If you are on social media and you want to make it relevant for the course and your Manding language learning in general, you should follow AKT on YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, or TikTok. Alternatively, sign up for the monthly email update that I send out. In all of those places, I regularly share original content in Bambara/Jula as well as updates about AKT projects. Go ahead and say "I ni ce" to me on any of them :-)
