CONTEXT: It’s hot! Adama and Abi are sitting together in their courtyard trying to keep cool.
ADAMA: Tile bɔra kɔni! Funteni bɛ!
ABI: Ɔnhɔn, tile ka farin bi!
ADAMA: Funteni bɛ n na (2) kojugu.
ABI: E tɛ ji dɔ min wa ?
ADAMA: Ji?! An mako bɛ sanji la!
ABI: O ye tiɲɛ ye. Yɔrɔ jara kojugu.
ADAMA: An bɛɛ b’à dɔn. Jiko bɛ ka (3) an bɛɛ tɔɔrɔ.
ABI: Sanji nana Bamakɔ kunun dun.
ADAMA: N’Ala sɔnna, à bɛ na yan fana.
ABI: À bɛ sɔn!
ADAMA: The sun has come it, "in any case"! It's hot!
ABI: Yes, the sun is fiery today!
ADAMA: I'm too hot!
ABI: Won't you drink some water?
ADAMA: Water?!! We need rain!
ABI: That's true. This place is too dry.
ADAMA: We all know it. The affair of water is making us all suffer.
ABI: Rain came to Bamako yesterday, you know.
ADAMA: God willing, it'll come here too.
ABI: He will be willing!
ABI: Yes, the sun is fiery today!
ADAMA: I'm too hot!
