A work equal to the Jula woman is rare amongst Africa's women. The Jula woman does some form of all work. If a Jula woman is with a farmer, she does farming work. She cooks and raises the children. She washes her husband and her children's clothes in addition to her own. Once the farm work is done, she self-effaces to take care of the needs of the whole family. If a Jula woman is with a traveling trader, she also does trade in addition to her house work. Some Jula women are people of means more than men due to their excessive hard work and good fortune. But even if a Jula woman becomes a person of means, no matter what, she can't consider herself better than her husband. She doesn't feel herself above her house work and respecting her husband. In the past, a Jula woman had no hand in politics. But now, women take part in all the affairs of cities and the country.
